 CS : Power and Media

What is Cultural Studies ?
Cultural studies, interdisciplinary field concerned with the role of social institutions in the shaping of culture. Cultural studies emerged in Britain in the late 1950s and subsequently spread internationally, notably to the United States and Australia. Originally identified with the Center for Contemporary Cultural Studies at the University of Birmingham (founded 1964) and with such scholars as Richard Hoggart, Stuart Hall, and Raymond Williams, cultural studies later became a well-established field in many academic institutions, and it has since had broad influence in sociology, anthropology, historiography, literary criticism, philosophy, and art criticism. Among its central concerns are the place of race or ethnicity, class, and gender in the production of cultural knowledge.

1) your understanding of Power in Cultural Studies (you can write about Michel Foucault's 'Knowledge and Power' also)

Six source of power :

1.Physical Force:
Physical force is a kind of group and community of people. Which we find in the army and police of any country. Which is given a special power. Which also frightens people.

2. Wealth :
In today's world, only those who have wealth are respected in society. Those who have wealth come into leadership. No matter who is in power, there are rich people behind the power. Powerful people are also connected with wealthy people. Power and authority are two sides of the same coin.

3) state action: means state government.
The government has permission to take action against any incident that occurs in any state. In case of any incident in the state, the decision is taken by the state government. That is, the government has the power to take action. State government manages the entire state.

4) Social Norms: Social norms govern the behavior of the members of society

5) Ideas: means power generates idea

6) Number: ( People)

2) Why Media Studies is so important in our digital culture? (you can also write about post-truth)
Because this is the part of human life and live to better life of human. And they understand how to developed in own power position. So It’s really good to have the opportunity to discuss the impact of technology on the wider society and culture. I’m going to argue today that even while we know post-truth politics is having a terrible effect on our political culture and our role as citizens, it’s curiously difficult to combat it because of a set of beliefs about what politics is, and about the Internet and the way it enables ordinary people to have a voice.

3) Who can be considered as a 'Truly Educated Person'?
As a Educated person, we can only count on those who have the power, how and where to use that power. It can also be said that we follow the way we value the person in power. And where to use the knowledge contained in oneself in a systematic way.
